Vans is excited to present the Vans “Off-The-Wall” x Jahan “the Great Wall” Exhibit at 798 Ming Art Gallery on Oct.10. Originally from Singapore and now currently residing in Taipei, Taiwan, Jahan is a pop artist, who significantly merges both the traditional presentation mode of ‘high-end’ visual pop art and modern street art, into his paintings.
Wearing Vans since he was a kid involved in the BMX scene, Jahan draws his inspiration from action sports. “The idea of conquering the spirit of fear and believe in yourself over a set of false values that tells you what you CANNOT do. The key is to lock out the demons in mind, and have discipline,” says Jahan Loh.
In his first exhibit in mainland China, Vans has collaborated with Jahan again for an exhibit at BJ 798 called, “The Great Wall”.
The exterior large mural with his art graphics, the Great Wall, demonstrates how he uses it as a medium for his own art is to show his concept of conquering the inner false values, and in a way that no one has ever done before, unique and different.
Inside, he created 6 pieces of artworks with those elements, showing his development process and tying back to Vans “Off-the-Wall” attitude, which is also defined as being unique, trying something no one ever dares to do.
A standing booth inside the gallery is showcasing Jahan’s new collaboration product, the Vans Mountain Mid X Jahan, low profile style except the shoe tongue, pad and heel with the transparent skeleton logo on the purple color.

Jahan Loh,

Jahan, A rebel at heart, choosing art over books. At an environment that does little to sustain artists, He has taken the road less travelled, but perhaps Art has chosen him to represent his inspiration and craft.
Jahan is a visual artist who works primarily in the field of urban pop painting. In his visually spectacular work, he significantly merges both the traditional presentation mode of ‘high-end’ visual pop art and modern street art, into his paintings. He introduces a fusion of east meets west aesthetic into urban aerosol painting in the streets, which penetrated into world of fine art through his controversial CHERRY POP art show in Singapore. When’s he’s not in his studio painting on canvases, he can be found painting his name across different mediums and shows round the globe. Jahan has had several sold out art shows including a recent joint show with CRASHONE (Bronx) in the Singapore Esplanade. His drawings, sculptures and paintings exhibit internationally
Although graffiti was illegal at the time, Jahan credits it with keeping him out of trouble and making him take his education a lot more seriously. Currently holds a day job working as the creative director for MACHI Entertainment in Taiwan. He considers his art (painting, tagging, sculpture and comics) as a reflection of his true self.
This is an artist that does not belong to an umbrella body as he is capable of creating his own art. His diverse styles of artworks are just a static medium for expression of his concepts.
