由SMG、ESPN STAR Sports和上海体育总会联合主办, 上海市杨浦区人民政府特别主办，起亚汽车冠名赞助的“2010起亚X GAMES亚洲极限运动锦标赛” 上海新闻发布会今日在雁荡路火热举行。来自活动主办方、赞助商的代表与王啸坤等艺人代表出席了本次发布会，以“炫出真极限”的响亮口号，为即将于5月27-30日在上海市杨浦区创智天地江湾体育中心举行的“2010起亚X GAMES亚洲极限运动锦标赛”呐喊造势，拉开了本届大赛的序幕。届时也正值上海2010世博会召开之际，今年的锦标赛将会吸引到全世界的观众，共赴这场荟萃5大洲30多个国家近200名顶级运动员的至酷极限盛事。
The 2010 KIA X Games Asia, organised by ESPN STAR Sports' Event Management and ESPN X Games with title sponsor Kia Motors, returns to Shanghai bigger and better than ever before with a line-up of exciting new disciplines, headlined with the new mini-MegaRamp™ structure that will be showcased for the first time in Asia during the four-day action sports extravaganza from 27 to 30 May 2010.
本届比赛共设三个正式比赛项目：直排轮（U台赛、街道赛）、滑板（U台赛、街道赛、极限腾跃赛）、极限单车（U台赛、街道赛、极限腾跃赛），均为当今最具标志性的极限运动项目。值得一提的是，2010年锦标赛在极限单车与滑板的单项比赛中，首次将在美国X GAMES上引爆眼球的“极限腾跃台（mini-MegaRamp™）”引进亚洲，其高度超过三层楼，宽度超过两个篮球场。届时，全球顶尖的极限运动员将在热情的现场观众面前亲身挑战这一超高难度的极限腾跃赛，可谓增添了整体比赛的刺激感与观赏性。除此之外，极限摩托表演也将继续成为今年的表演重头戏。届时ESPN亚洲电视网、五星体育将全程直播和转播精彩赛况。与往年相比，今年的比赛拥有更高的总奖金额度, 从13万美金增长到了15万美金， 赛制也更为成熟，再加上更多赞助商的倾情加入，在规模和组织上达到一个全新的高度。
今年的锦标赛竞技水平之高堪比美国X GAMES，其中最具代表性的是滑板项目中的8届金牌选手Andy Macdonald、6届金牌选手Bucky Lasek以及5届金牌选手Pierre-Luc Gagnon，另有BMX极限单车项目中的4届金牌选手Kevin Robinson和8届金牌选手Simon Tabron，以及亚洲顶尖来自日本的直排轮兄弟选手安床武士和安床荣仁。届时，他们将为极限运动迷们献上最炫酷的极限表演与最激烈的现场角逐。
自2007年进入中国上海至今，“起亚X GAMES亚洲极限运动锦标赛”始终坚持以展示世界极限运动的最高成就，促进国际间极限文化交流为己任，为极限运动的不断发展提供了源源不断的力量，成功地在亚洲乃至世界范围内树立起了至高的权威形象，成为了一项具有国际水平的运动盛事。

今年的“起亚X GAMES亚洲极限运动锦标赛 ”将带领更多时尚的年轻族将极限运动进行到底！作为本届大赛的形象大使，内地创作才子王啸坤也亲临到发布会现场，与大家分享了他为本届大赛创作主题曲《不停-Round and Round》的创意灵感。另外，内地人气组合水晶蝶、上海方言说唱组合黑新新、新晋艺人唐丹和实力歌手张志林也分别将在四天的比赛现场倾情演绎，更有来自美国的X GAMES特约DJ，带来不容错过的混音表演，带来不容错过的炫酷现场，引爆全场热情。
此外，为了吸引更多热爱极限运动的年轻人加入到推广和发展极限运动的行列中来，今年主办方还特别在上海16所高校内展开为期3个月的“极限达人大搜寻”活动，旨在选拔和培养我国极限运动领域里的“刘翔”和“姚明”。 该活动将以网络票选的形式展开，最后总决赛将在“2010起亚X GAMES亚洲极限运动锦标赛”的现场角逐，总冠军将与ESPN台湾人气主持搭档，成为锦标赛的现场主持人。
这场极限运动风暴将一路传递，在上海各个时尚地标掀起极限运动的狂潮，今年3至5月4次路演将用一系列炫动独特的行动告诉你，在火红五月举办的“2010起亚X GAMES亚洲极限运动锦标赛”必将成为全球极限运动爱好者瞩目的焦点！

Held in Shanghai for the fourth consecutive year, the 2010 KIA X Games Asia will debut the monumental structure towering more than three stories high, and longer than two basketball courts. The mini MegaRamp™ contests will feature Skateboard and BMX athletes dropping into a structure with a 9.2m high roll-in, launching over a gap 7.6m long and continuing into a 5.5m quarter-pipe. Most significantly, decorated international action sports athletes will entertain passionate local crowds by parading never-seen-before tricks on the mini-MegaRamp™.
Among the X Games medallists confirmed to compete at 12th annual event are eight-time gold medallist Andy Macdonald, six-time gold medallist Bucky Lasek, and five-time gold medallist Pierre-Luc Gagnon in the skateboard disciplines, as well as four-time gold medallist Kevin Robinson and eight-time medallist Simon Tabron for the BMX Freestyle events. The Yasutoko brothers Eito and Takeshi, a popular draw amongst Asian fans, return to extend their dominance in the aggressive in-line vert.
The bolstered event, following the renewal of a three-year title sponsorship by Kia Motors till 2012, also welcomes the addition of new brands such as Clear as a Premium Sponsor, as well as Official Suppliers in Challenge Skateboard, ELECOM, and Pizza Boy picking up sponsorship packages – bringing the total number of sponsors and partners to 49 this year. All the brands stand to benefit from various promotional and marketing opportunities as part of their association with the KIA X Games Asia.

The KIA X Games Asia will feature another impressive line-up of nearly 200 of the best athletes from more than 30 countries competing in the region’s No.1 action sports competition. This year, competitors can look forward to an increase in prize money, which has been raised from US$130,000 last year to US$150,000. In addition to the mini-MegaRamp™, this year’s event will feature the sport disciplines of Aggressive Inline (Vert and Street), Skateboard (Vert and Street), BMX Freestyle (Vert and Street) and Moto X Freestyle demonstrations (Big Air).
The KIA X Games Asia has earned a strong global reputation with a significant increase in awareness about action sports in the region and the 12th edition of Asia’s biggest action sports competition is expected to draw another capacity crowd this May. Since 2007, the annual event has attracted more than 141,200 visitors in Shanghai, and recorded its third consecutive record-breaking attendance last year with 54,500 spectators at Yangpu District’s KIC Jiangwan Sports Center.
In addition, competitors can look forward to a new ‘jam session’ format to KIA X Games Asia in the Vert and Street disciplines of Skateboard, BMX Freestyle and Aggressive In-Line Skate that will raise competitive levels and heighten the audience’s appreciation of the competition. In this new format, athletes will make multiple attempts per feature to score points during the elimination rounds and the Final, instead of having consecutive runs.
Visitors to this year’s KIA X Games Asia can also look forward to a festival atmosphere with many exciting entertainment and music performances, as well as an interactive activity arena with games and prize giveaways. In addition to the high-level competition, many young and trendy artists, musicians and dancers will give spectacular performances – including the event ambassador Eassy Xiao-Kun Wong with the original theme song “Round and Round”. The highly entertaining concerts will also feature performances by the Band Crystal Butterfly and Black New New, Andrew Zhi-Lin Cheung, and Miki Dan Tang.
The KIA X Games Asia 2010 will be broadcast live on Great Sports in Shanghai and across Asia on ESPN from 1.00 to 3.00pm on 28-30 May.
