Southbank 早就是伦敦滑板的标志性地点，而自从政府扩张计划发布以来，Southbank 的命运也是受到世界各地滑板人的关注，于是巴特利特建筑学院的 Iain Borden 教授和具有设计滑板地形经验的 Rich Holland 等42名建筑师联合起来，准备将 Southbank 进行一番改造，让它变为伦敦全新的城市焦点之一，当然，全新的设计是可以用作滑板道具的，设计草稿已经出炉，相信如果经过一番改造，英国政府肯定不舍得将这全新文化焦点变为咖啡店停车场的!

We have always said that skateboarding is important to Southbank Centre. We therefore commissioned Iain Borden, Professor of Architecture and Urban Culture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and Rich Holland, an architectural designer at Floda31, who has made many skateable installations and sculptures -- and both skaters -- to prepare a draft design brief earlier this summer. We invited three architectural practices-- 42 Architects, Rich Architecture and SNE Architects -- to illustrate how an alternative skateable space could look under Hungerford Bridge. This space is 10% bigger than the current space, and these designs demonstrate how we could transform this area into an alternative iconic, permanent, riverside skateable space.
