第六届Skullcandy冲浪海南公开赛将于11月2-3日举行将于2013年11月2-3日举行的Skullcandy冲浪海南公开赛，已经历时6年，作为中国开始最早、历时最久的冲浪比赛，冲浪海南公开赛已经成为冲浪业内的盛会，深受当地民众的推崇，同时，它也是众多冲浪选手证明自己的平台。

历时两天的比赛，依照惯例在11月的第一个周末举行，由著名的影音品牌Skullcandy冠名赞助。他们的驻华市场总监Elijah Kislevitz 说：“我们非常激动能够再次成为此次比赛的赞助商，在当地冲浪圈的口碑每一年都得到提高，并且我非常期待看到他们走的更远。”

此次比赛的赞助商还有著名运动品牌：Blue Hawaii、Vans、and XSories, 媒体支持主要有CSR中国冲浪媒体。此次比赛主要由“冲浪万宁”主办，日月湾冲浪俱乐部组织。比赛不仅吸引了国内外的冲浪爱好者，还吸引了众多的沙滩活动爱好者，成为了海南最棒的周末冲浪派对。比赛总策划Brendan Sheridan说：“我们希望有40位冲浪选手，200到300位参与者。 尽管竞争激烈，但是海滩的气氛非常棒。我们以拥有如此一个这么多人向往的赛事而自豪。”

比赛将分为6个组别，分别为：男子短板组、女子短板组、男子长板组、女子长板组、16岁以下少年组和桨板组。短板组中，Edouard Moreau将集中精力于守护他去年的男子组冠军头衔，他将会迎来冲浪海南公开赛老选手，去年最佳浪奖得主 Daniel Lau（美国华侨）的挑战。而在女子组中，来自台湾的周文玲也将回来争夺她的去年冠军头衔。

长板比赛中，来自台湾的陈东明将会期待在男子组别中打败铁桩、莫弘和黄文等本地著名冲浪选手。而在女子长板组里，由SWATCH 所赞助的冲浪选手刘丹希望在她的主场夺冠，但她显然要竭尽全力，因为她将面临来自巴西的强劲对手ChloeCamon。Chloe在参加了女子长板赛两年之后，她对于日月湾的左手浪已不再陌生。

而16岁以下的少年组，日月湾冲浪俱乐部的老板曾山说道：“我已经等不急想要看到我们少年冲浪先锋队的表现了，他们去年才开始接受培训，但我还是不敢相信他们那么快。”他们要面对的是来自香港的悍将Joe和小狼，他们去年就分别拿下了去年16岁以下少年组的冠亚军。在桨板组里，俄罗斯选手Yaroslav Klokov将对阵日月湾最佳本地冲浪选手黄文。除了每个组别的前四名能得到相应的奖金和奖品之外，本地冲浪选手还有机会拿到即将开始的ASP世界冲浪巡回赛海南站的外卡名额。其中一个国际女子职业长板比赛（11月20-24日）外卡名额将给到在本次比赛取得最佳成绩的中国国内的女子选手，同时也有两个海南国际精英赛（2014年1月）海南站的外卡名额将给到本次公开赛男子短板组前两名的中国国内选手。

The 2013 Skullcandy Surfing Hainan Open, in its sixth year, will be held over November 2nd and3rd. The longest running surf competition in Hainan is a local favorite, and a proving ground for the best surfers in China. A two-day event, held on the first weekend of November as per tradition, will be presented by audio brand Skullcandy.

Skullcandy’s China Marketing Manager Elijah Kislevitz said “We are stoked to again be the presenting sponsor for this great event. Every year the caliber of the local surfers improves, and I look forward to seeing how far everyone has come.” On board as co-sponsors are Blue Hawaii, Vans, XSories, and Surfing Wanning, with media sponsorship from China Surf Report.

Organized by the Riyue Bay Surf Club, the event not only attracts surfers from China and abroad, but also attracts brings out many beach-lovers, and is the best weekend surf party in Hainan. Competition Director Brendan Sheridan said “We expect 40 competitors, and two to three hundred attendants. While the competition is fierce, the vibe on the beach is great. We are proud to have an event that so many people look forward to each year.”

The even will feature six divisions – Men’s Shortboard, Women’s Shortboard, Men’s Longboard, Women’s Longboard, Mixed Under 16s, and Mixed Stand Up Paddleboard. In the shortboard divisions, Edouard Moreau will look to defend his title from last year in the Men’s division, while facing competition from Chinese-American Daniel Lau, long-time Surfing Hainan Open competitor and winner of Best Wave at last year’s competition. In the Women’s division, Zhou Wenling, from Taiwan, will be returning to defend her title from 2012.

In longboarding, Chen Dongming, will come from Taiwan and look to defeat local favorites, TieZhaung and Zac Mo in the Men’s division. In Women’s, Swatch-sponsored surfer Darci Liu will look to take the prize in front of her home crowd, but will have her work cut out for her against Brazilian talent Chloe Camon. Chloe is no stranger to the left hand point break in Riyue Bay, having been competing in the Swatch Girls Pro event for the last two years.

Concerning the Under 16s division, Riyue Bay Surf Club owner Zeng Shan said “I can’t wait to see how our local surf team performs. We have been training them for the last year, and we can’t believe how quickly they have progressed.” They will face stiff competition from both Joe Keough and Wolf Wertheimer, both Hong Kong nationals, who finished first and second in the Under 16s division last year.In the Stand Up Paddleboard division, Russian national Yaroslav Klokov will look to best Riyue Bay local Huang Wen, amongst others.

In addition to the cash purse and sponsor prizes to the top four finishers of each division, the local surfers have the additional incentive of being able to capture a wildcard spot into three upcoming ASP competitions in Hainan. There will be one wildcard spot for the Swatch Girls Pro (Nov 20-24) and one for the Citic Pacific Pro (Nov 25-29) awarded to the highest-placing Chinese national in the Women’s and Men’s Longboard divisions, as well as wildcard spots for the Hainan Classic (Jan 2014) awarded to the two highest-placing Chinese nationals in the Men’s Shortboard division.
