Levi’s started crafting apparel and dry goods with very specific needs at the dawn of the Gold Rush over 150 years ago. Denim for gold miners and canvas for the tents they lived in while they were prospecting. In order to meet the demands that these pioneers would place on their clothing, Levi’s had to continually innovate in terms of construction, materials and manufacturing. Fast forward to 2014 and this same attention to detail is still evident in everything the brand makes.
Skateboarders have been wearing Levi’s since metal wheels where nailed to 2x4s in the 1950s. The demands put on clothing by skateboarders has only gotten increasingly greater as stair sets and gaps have gotten bigger. Levi’s recognized that product could be made better for skateboarding. So they took to the task of doing just that. See below for select pieces using the work-wear inspired construction from the Spring 2014 Skateboarding Collection.
