February kicked off with Vans OTW building a "pyramid" in LA.
March saw the opening of the first Supreme store in China, in Shanghai. Crazy thing is, by July, VF Corp sold it off for 1.5 billion. Damn.
May hit Shanghai's North Bund with the Vans AVE 2.0 global tour. Transparent obstacles, insane river views, and the Vans all-star squad brought some serious Off The Wall vibes.
Right after, the Olympic qualifiers landed in Shanghai, bringing all the global skate stars. Did you get any autographs or snaps with your idols?
June had the Vans AVE 2.0 tour taking over Paris Fashion Week.
End of June, like always, was Go Skateboarding Day. VISION linked up with over 60 skate shops in 48 cities across China, throwing a party for skaters, by skaters.
July rolled around with the Grand Masters skate comp in Aranya—a massive gathering for skaters from all over Asia.
August was all about the Olympics. Mind-blowing street finals, 50-year-old Andy Mac killing it, and of course, China's young guns, Zheng Hao Hao and Cui Chenxi, holding it down.
Early September, Zhan He took second place at the MASS skate comp in Singapore.
Same month, adidas brought back the legendary THREE STRIPE SKATE HYPE, bringing the heat to Shanghai for a whole week.
October had Vans on their eighth annual charity trip, back in the Tibetan Plateau after years.
November, back in Shanghai, the FISE World Series brought top skaters from China and around the world together.
Late November saw Asian skaters dominating Tampa AM, with Beijing's Xiaohu setting a new record for Chinese skaters.
From real life to online, the biggest drama this year was definitely the whole dad-slapping-kid at the skatepark thing—never thought we'd see that in skating.
